Welcome to the NHS Revalidation Support Team (RST)

The RST and partners are building a bank of case studies to provide inspiration and practical tips to help designated bodies prepare for revalidation. This is an opportunity to showcase your organisation’s work and share learning.

We are particularly interested in speaking to the following people regarding their experiences of appraisal, clinical governance and preparations for revalidation:

medical directors/responsible officers
chief executives
board members
workforce directors/managers
appraisal managers
appraisers
appraisees/doctors
patient representatives  
 

Possible topics include (but are not limited to):

appraisal systems/ appraiser training
clinical governance systems
responding to concerns
information management
the appraisal and revalidation of doctors in different circumstances (e.g. locums, SAS doctors) and
action planning/project management for revalidation readiness.

What happens next?

The RST or GMC will contact a selection from each region during January and February to find out more and set up a time for a phone interview.

The interview should take no longer than 30 minutes. Once the case study has been written up we will send it to you to check for factual accuracy.

We hope to develop these into written case studies, which will be featured on the RST and GMC websites and may be produced in hard copy to give out at industry events. A small number will be approached to be developed into video case studies.
